Athletics

Regarding the photo above of the 1947-48 Wildcats, from David Juhl:
“I stumbled across your website tonight. Very nice job!
The picture of the 1947-1948 District Basketball Champions includes my father, Marvin Juhl. He is #4, cradling the District Plaque between his feet. My dad is still living (now 76 years old). He’s made his home in Du Quoin since 1967.
Regarding Coach Mack Waldrip. My dad says Coach Waldrip was a native of Greenup, Il. My parents lived next door to him in New Holland for a time shortly
after my parents were married.”
